One of the great ironies of the so-called third quest for the historical Jesus, which is presently a fad in many academic circles, is that the same old heresies raised first in the nineteenth century are again surfacing in dreary monotonyB.S. Childs, "Interpreting the Bible amid Cultural Change," Theology Today 54 (1997): 200-11, here 211.
OLD TESTAMENT THEOLOGY: The "OT" bit references historical, literary, cultural issues (the particulars), the "theology" bit references the Big Picture (and why it matters). These two poles are expressed in the title. This blog concerns everything in between.

The third quest--isn't that the one N.T. Wright started (or named)?
N.T. Wright didn't start it, he just drew on its insights into the Jewish/apocalyptic context of Jesus in order to do his own work. I don't know who started it.
